The Basil MIK Adapter Plate 2.0 is the quick and secure way to attach bike accessories to your luggage carrier with a simple click-and-lock system. Whether you are attaching a basket for your groceries, a crate for errands, or even a pet carrier, the MIK system makes switching accessories completely effortless. The upgraded 2.0 version is cleverly profiled to leave enough space on your luggage carrier for hook-on bags, allowing you to carry an MIK basket or crate on top while simultaneously utilizing your side pannier bags.
Safety and security are built right into the platform. The adapter plate is equipped with an integrated locking function that secures your basket or bag to the bike, keeping your gear safe when you pop into a shop. It comes supplied with two distinct MIK key variants—a small key designed to be left in the plate for rapid daily removal, and an extended large key designed to easily reach underneath bulkier crates and baskets for permanent locking.
Crafted from high-grade, weather-resistant synthetic materials, this adapter plate is engineered to handle a hefty carrying capacity of up to 15kg. It is 100% compatible with any bicycle or e-bike that features an integrated MIK luggage rack system. For standard bike racks, it pairs seamlessly with the optional Basil MIK Carrier Plate, allowing you to modernise your current commuting setup in seconds.
Click-Lock-Go Mechanism: Secures compatible bags, crates, and baskets to your rear rack in a single second.

Side Pannier Friendly: The slimline 2.0 design leaves side rails clear, allowing the simultaneous use of hook-on side pannier bags.

✅ Multi-Purpose Commuters: Perfect if you want to use the same bike for morning grocery runs, daily work commutes, and weekend picnics by swapping bags in seconds.
✅ Security Conscious: Ideal for riders who want to prevent opportunistic theft of their expensive baskets or crates when leaving the bike locked up publicly.
✅ Heavy Pack Ambitious: Excellent if you need to maximise your cargo space by running a top-mounted crate alongside standard side-hanging panniers.
❌ Standard Racks Alone: If your bike does not have a native MIK-engineered rack, you will need to purchase the separate Basil MIK Carrier Base Plate to make this work.
❌ Ultra-Lightweight Minimalists: Bikepackers looking to strip every gram of hardware from their frame might find the additional plate weight unnecessary.
❌ Front Rack Mounting: This system is strictly designed and dimensioned for rear luggage racks and will not safely mount to narrow front porteur racks.
If you frequently ride with a large, deep crate or basket, use the extended MIK Key L and attach it to your main keyring. Because larger crates overhang the plate significantly, the shorter Key S can be quite fiddly to reach with your fingers. The extra length of the Key L gives you the perfect leverage to press the release mechanism smoothly without scraping your knuckles against the bottom of your basket!
