ECLAT BIOS PIVOTAL SEAT FAT BLACK
The Reinvented Standard in BMX Seating.
The Éclat Bios Fat is the result of over two years of intensive research and development into seat base architecture. While many BMX seats use generic, off-the-shelf plastic bases, Éclat developed their own exclusive mold from a new nylon and fiberglass compound. The goal was to eliminate the common failure points in traditional Pivotal designs—specifically the nose and rear sections—which often crack or collapse during heavy landings or when the bike is thrown.
The "Fat" designation provides maximum cushioning, making it a favorite for street riders who catch the seat between their knees for barspins or for anyone who wants a more substantial "perch" for cruising between spots. The Bios series is widely respected for its "Performance Black" finish, which utilizes a multi-compound top cover with high-grip side panels to give you ultimate control when the bike is in the air.
Key Performance Features
Exclusive Custom-Designed Base: Unlike standard bases, the Bios features a reinforced nose and rear structure that has been laboratory-load tested to significantly outperform traditional designs in durability.
LINKGLIDE-Style Durability: Built for the abuse of modern freestyle, the base is constructed from a proprietary Nylon/Fiberglass injected compound that resists flexing and snapping.
Fat Padding Profile: Offers extra-thick cushioning, providing a larger surface area and softer interface for barspins and protection during heavy-impact landings.
Performance Black Cover: Features a high-tech top cover with grippy rubber side panels, specifically designed to provide extra friction and support when gripping the seat with your thighs.
Refined Aesthetics: Includes a minimal rubber top patch and a clean, recessed Pivotal bolt interface for a streamlined look that won't snag your pants.
Integrated Handle Covers: The underside of the nose and tail include screwed handle covers, providing a smooth surface for your fingers when grabbing the seat during certain tricks.

✅ Why This IS For You
The Street Specialist: If you do a lot of barspins, the fat padding and grippy side panels provide the best possible tactile control for your legs.
Riders Hard on Gear: If you find yourself snapping seat noses or cracking bases, the reinforced Bios base is specifically engineered to solve that problem.
Maximum Comfort: Ideal if you spend a lot of time sitting on your bike while moving between street spots or commuting.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
The Weight Weenie: While light for a fat seat, at ~388g, it is heavier than the Éclat Bios Slim (~283g). If you prioritize the lowest possible bike weight, the Slim version is your better bet.
Traditional Railed Posts: This is a Pivotal-only seat. It will not work with older railed-style seat posts or Stealth-only posts.
BFC Pro Tip
When installing the Bios seat, ensure your Pivotal bolt is tightened securely, but avoid over-torquing, as the nylon base is designed to have a tiny amount of natural "give." For the ultimate setup, pair this with an Éclat Torch Seat Post to ensure the splines match perfectly. If the side panels get dirty or lose their "tack," a quick wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap will restore the rubber’s grippy properties, keeping your barspins as pinched and controlled as the day you bought it!
