HOPE FLOATING ROTOR 6 BOLT BLACK
The Industry Benchmark for Braking Consistency.
The Hope Floating Rotor is a masterpiece of British engineering, designed for riders who demand fade-free performance during the longest, most technical descents. By utilizing a "floating" two-piece construction, Hope separates the high-friction braking surface from the mounting interface. This allows the stainless steel outer ring to expand and contract freely under extreme heat without warping or "dishing." Finished with a signature CNC-machined black anodized aluminum spider, this rotor offers a significant weight saving over solid steel versions while adding a high-end, custom aesthetic to any build.
Unlike standard rotors that can become permanent "dishes" after a single overheated run, the Hope floating design uses circular stainless steel rivets to manage thermal expansion. This ensures that your brake levers feel consistent from the top of the trail to the very bottom, providing predictable modulation when you need it most.
Key Features
Two-Piece Floating Design: Combines a custom-spec stainless steel braking surface with a central aluminum carrier to manage heat and prevent warping.
CNC-Machined 2014-T6 Aluminum Spider: The central core is machined from high-strength aerospace aluminum, providing maximum rigidity and weight reduction.
Superior Heat Management: The floating interface allows the rotor to expand as it heats up, eliminating "brake rub" caused by thermal distortion during long descents.
Universal 6-Bolt Fitment: Designed to fit all standard 6-bolt international (IS) hubs, providing a secure and reliable connection to your wheelset.
High-Friction Braking Surface: Laser-cut from premium steel for exceptional bite and durability, compatible with all major brake brands (Hope, Shimano, SRAM, Magura).
Classic Hope Aesthetics: Features the iconic Black Anodized finish with laser-etched logos, making it a favorite for high-end custom bike builds.

✅ Why This IS For You
Aggressive Trail & Enduro Riders: If you frequently experience "brake fade" or warped rotors on long, steep descents.
Custom Bike Builders: Perfect for those who want a premium, UK-made component that adds a professional look and feel to their bike.
Weight-Conscious Shredders: Ideal if you want to reduce unsprung weight and rotating mass without sacrificing braking power or reliability.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Centerlock Hub Users: This is a 6-bolt specific rotor. While adapters exist, we recommend a native Centerlock rotor for the cleanest interface if your hubs require it.
Tight Clearance Forks/Frames: Due to the rivets used in the floating design, these rotors are slightly wider at the carrier than solid rotors. Check for clearance against your fork legs or frame chainstays before installation.
BFC Pro Tip
The Hope Floating Rotor is world-class, but because the aluminum carrier is slightly thicker than a standard stamped steel rotor, you might need to re-align your brake caliper slightly after installation to ensure perfect clearance. When fitting, always use the supplied T25 Torx bolts and a drop of medium-strength threadlocker; tighten them in a "star" pattern to ensure even tension across the hub. If you find the rivets are just barely touching your brake adapter, come chat with us—a tiny bit of filing on the adapter (not the rotor!) is a common "pro" fix for tight clearance issues!
