SANTINI DRY SLEEVELESS BASELAYER
The Invisible Advantage for Maximum Cooling.
The Santini Dry Sleeveless Base Layer is the ultimate foundation for high-performance cycling in warm to hot conditions. While many riders consider base layers a winter-only garment, a sleeveless technical mesh is actually the most efficient way to keep your body cool when the tempo rises and the mercury climbs. By creating a thin layer of air between your skin and your jersey, it facilitates the "chimney effect," pulling moisture away from your body and allowing it to evaporate far faster than a jersey can on its own.
Crafted with Santini’s signature Italian precision, the Dry Sleeveless features a specialized mesh construction that is incredibly light and airy. The sleeveless cut is the preferred choice for racers and enthusiasts alike, as it offers the same core temperature regulation as a short-sleeve version but with zero bulk around the shoulders and underarms—ensuring total freedom of movement and maximum airflow through your jersey’s ventilation panels.
Key Performance Features
Ultra-Lightweight Mesh Knit: Engineered with an open-cell structure that maximizes surface area for instant moisture transport and superior breathability.
Sleeveless Profile: The ideal cut for mid-summer riding, providing core protection while allowing for unrestricted arm movement and a "barely there" feel under aero-fit jerseys.
Elongated "Drop-Tail" Cut: Specifically patterned for the cycling position, with extra length in the back to ensure it stays securely tucked into your bibs, even when you're deep in the drops.
Thermo-Regulating Polypropylene: Utilizes advanced fibers that are naturally hydrophobic, meaning they cannot absorb water. This keeps the garment lightweight and dry, regardless of how much you sweat.
Ergonomic Seamless Sides: To prevent chafing and "hot spots," the body is knitted in a tubular fashion, eliminating side seams for a smooth, irritation-free interface with your skin.
Antibacterial & Anti-Odour: The technical fibers are naturally resistant to the buildup of bacteria, keeping you fresher for longer on grueling all-day summer epics.

✅ Why This IS For You
The High-Cadence Climber: If you tend to overheat on long, slow-speed climbs where airflow is minimal, this base layer will drastically improve your sweat management.
Aero Jersey Users: Modern race jerseys are often very thin and "rubby" on the skin. This base layer provides a smooth, comfortable barrier without compromising the aerodynamic fit of the jersey.
Indoor Training / Zwift: An absolute essential for indoor sessions. It manages the heavy perspiration of stationary riding far better than a bare chest or a standard T-shirt.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Cool Morning Starts: For rides starting below 12°C-15°C, the sleeveless mesh provides very little insulation. In those cases, the Santini Dry Short Sleeve or a thermal option would be more appropriate.
The "Loose-Fit" Preference: This garment is designed to be highly compressive to work effectively. If you find tight-fitting gear restrictive, you may need to size up for a more relaxed feel.
BFC Pro Tip
A common mistake is wearing a base layer that is too loose. To work effectively, the Santini Dry mesh must be in constant contact with your skin to "wick" the moisture away. When you first put it on, it may look very small, but the high elasticity is designed to map to your body shape perfectly. To maintain that elasticity, avoid the tumble dryer and never use bleach. After a hot ride, a quick rinse in cold water is often all you need to keep it fresh for the next day's session!
