The Essential Barrier for Cold-Weather Riding.
The Santini Winter Under-Helmet Cap is a low-profile, high-insulation accessory designed to protect your most vital area from the biting winter wind. Traditional cycling helmets are designed for maximum airflow to keep you cool in summer, but in winter, those same vents become a liability. This cap acts as a thermal thermal shield, plugging those gaps and trapping a thin layer of warm air against your scalp.
Constructed from a technical thermo-fleece fabric, the cap is incredibly thin, ensuring it fits comfortably under your helmet without requiring you to adjust the cradle or straps. The interior features a soft, brushed loft that feels comfortable against the skin, while the outer surface is smooth to allow your helmet to slide on and off easily.
Key Performance Features
Blizzard Thermo-Fleece: A high-performance fabric that provides exceptional thermal balance. It keeps the heat in while allowing excess moisture to escape, preventing the "sweaty-then-chilled" cycle.
Ergonomic Low-Profile Fit: Specifically patterned to cover the forehead and ears—the areas most susceptible to wind chill—while remaining thin enough to fit under any standard helmet.
Integrated Ear Coverage: Designed with a contoured shape that drops down to fully protect the ears without interfering with sunglass arms.
Flatlock Stitching: Built with flat, reinforced seams to eliminate pressure points and chafing during long rides when pressed between your head and the helmet liner.
Elasticated Hem: Provides a snug, secure fit that won't shift or bunch up when you're checking your blind spot or moving in and out of the saddle.
High Breathability: Despite its warmth, the technical knit ensures you don't overheat during high-intensity efforts or long climbs.

✅ Why This IS For You
The Early Morning Rider: If you find yourself dreading those 5:00 AM starts when the air is crisp and freezing, this cap is the single most effective way to increase your overall comfort.
High-Speed Descents: Essential for mountain descents where wind chill can cause "brain freeze" or ear pain within seconds.
Riders with Minimal Hair: If you don't have natural insulation on top, this cap is a non-negotiable staple for any ride below 10°C.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Mild/Spring Mornings: If the temperature is consistently above 12°C, you may find this fleece-lined version too warm. In those cases, a standard Santini Cotton Cap or a thin headband would be better.
Brim Enthusiasts: This is a "skull-cap" style without a peak. If you require a brim to keep rain or sun out of your eyes, look for a dedicated Winter Cycling Cap with a built-in visor.
BFC Pro Tip
The Santini Winter Cap is designed to sit low on the forehead. For the best seal against the wind, pull the front edge down so it sits just above your eyebrows and tuck your ears inside the side flaps. When putting your helmet on, place the front of the helmet against the cap first and "roll" it back to ensure the fabric stays flat against your head. Because it’s a high-wicking synthetic, never use fabric softener in the wash—this keeps the fleece lofted and ensures it continues to pull sweat away from your scalp!
