WHEELS MFG 29MM BB SPINDLE SPACER
The Wheels MFG 29mm BB Spindle Spacer is a premium, workshop-grade solution designed to eliminate the precision guesswork from bottom bracket installations. When upgrading components or installing a new crankset, tiny variances in frame shell widths can lead to irritating horizontal spindle play, chain drop, or poor shifting performance. This precision-machined spacer provides a simple way to fill minor gaps along the axle, allowing home mechanics and professional bike shops across Australia to achieve a perfect, zero-slop fitment.
Machined from high-strength engineering-grade Delrin, this spacer stands up to harsh trail vibration, high compressive forces, and corrosive elements without deforming or scratching your expensive crank spindle. It features a precise 29mm internal diameter tailored specifically for modern SRAM DUB cranksets. Available in multiple micro-thickness profiles, it can be positioned between the bottom bracket’s outer dust seal and the crank arm face to perfectly dial in your chainline or correct chain ring clearance against the chainstay. By ensuring symmetrical bearing pre-load without binding, this compact component plays an essential role in maximizing bearing life and silencing drivetrain noise.
Key Features
Engineering-Grade Delrin: Machined from robust, low-friction Delrin polymer that resists high compression forces without cracking or scoring metal spindles.
SRAM DUB Compatibility: Engineered with an exact 29mm internal diameter to slip perfectly onto standard mountain, gravel, and road SRAM DUB axles.
Micro-Thru Play Elimination: Allows you to take up tiny increments of horizontal play, eliminating annoying axle movement through the bottom bracket shell.
Chainline Fine-Tuning: Provides a reliable method to adjust your chainline outward, improving shifting precision and reducing drivetrain wear.
Zero-Squeak Material: The specialized polymer composite interface prevents metal-on-metal friction, keeping your bottom bracket silent under high torque.
Available Thickness Increments: Offered in ultra-precise 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 2.5mm, and 5.0mm sizing options to accommodate diverse frame and shell configurations.

✅ Why This IS For You
SRAM DUB Drivetrain Users: An absolute essential if you run a modern 29mm DUB crankset and need to dial in the perfect frame clearance.
Drivetrain Silencers: Perfect if you are chasing down an annoying micro-clunk or lateral shift in your cranks every time you stand up to climb.
Custom Chainline Adjusters: Ideal if your custom gravel or mountain bike frame requires a millimeter of extra outward chainring spacing to clear wide rear tires.
Home Workshop Mechanics: A fantastic, cost-effective spare part to keep in your toolbox to avoid getting stuck midway through a frame building project.
❌ Why This May NOT Be For You
Standard 24mm or 30mm Spindles: Designed strictly for 29mm axles; it will not fit traditional Shimano 24mm spindles or oversized 30mm BB30/PF30 setups.
Riders with Built-In Preload Rings: If your left-side non-drive crank arm utilizes an adjustable plastic preload thread ring with ample range, you may not need extra spacers.
Massive Chainline Corrections: If your bike requires more than 10mm of correction, you will need a dedicated wide-axle crank variant rather than stacking thin shims.
BFC Pro Tip
When setting up your 29mm spacers, always install the bottom bracket's rubber dust seals directly against the cartridge bearings first. The Delrin spindle spacers must always be positioned on the outside of the dust seal, sitting flush against the inner face of the crank arm. To make things easy, perform a dry test-fit without any spacers, torque the crank arm to spec, and measure the remaining lateral play with a set of vernier calipers—this tells you exactly how many millimeters of spacers to slide on for a perfect, friction-free fit on the first try!
