BBB ECHELON PRO SADDLE 155MM
The Professional Racing Standard.
The BBB Echelon Pro (model BSD-173) is a high-performance, short-nose saddle designed specifically for riders who maintain an aggressive, competitive (30°) cycling posture. It is a significant step up from the standard Echelon, utilizing a carbon-reinforced nylon shell and hollow stainless steel rails to shed weight while maintaining a stiff, responsive platform for power transfer.
This 155mm version is the wider of the two professional options, providing a stable base for riders with wider sit-bone measurements. The "short-nose" design is a modern trend in cycling that allows riders to stay in an aerodynamic position for longer periods without the traditional "pressure spikes" associated with longer-nosed saddles.
Key Features
Carbon-Reinforced Shell: A stiff, durable base that resists sagging over time and ensures every watt of power goes into the pedals.
Large Anatomic Cut-out: Designed to maximize blood flow and eliminate pressure points under the pubic arch, particularly when riding in the drops.
Innovative Rain Plug: Includes a removable plug that allows you to switch between an "open" channel for maximum ventilation and a "closed" setup to block road spray in wet weather.
Sustainable Materials: Features an eco-friendly construction, including a bio-based nylon shell and "Coffee Blend" EVA foam padding made from recycled coffee grounds.
Lightweight Performance: Despite the comfortable padding, the 155mm Pro version weighs in at a competitive 216g.
Durable Synthetic Cover: A waterproof, friction-reducing cover that allows you to shift your weight easily without snagging your bib shorts.

✅ Why This IS For You
Aggressive Road & MTB Riders: If you find yourself frequently riding in the drops or in a low, "sprinting" position, the 30° optimized shape prevents soft-tissue numbness.
Short-Nose Converts: If you’ve struggled with traditional long saddles causing "nose-rub" or chafing, this 250mm short-profile design offers more freedom of movement.
All-Weather Commuters: The unique rain plug is a game-changer if you ride year-round; you can keep the channel open for cooling in summer and plug it in winter to stay dry.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Upright/Casual Riders: If you ride in a more relaxed, "City" or "Trekking" posture (60°-90°), the firm density (1/9) of the Pro padding will likely feel too hard. You may prefer the BBB Echelon Comfort instead.
Weight-Weenie Purists: While 216g is light, riders looking for sub-150g "full carbon" spatulas may find this too heavy due to the actual padding and steel rails.
Narrow Sit-Bones: If your sit-bone measurement is under 120mm, the 145mm version will provide better thigh clearance and prevent chafing.
BFC Pro Tip
The Echelon Pro uses a "firm" density padding. When you first install it, it may feel stiffer than your old saddle. Give it at least 3–5 rides to allow the EVA foam to break in and conform to your anatomy. Also, because this is a short-nose saddle, you may need to set it slightly further back (about 10–15mm) on your seatpost compared to a traditional-length saddle to keep your sit bones in the same relative position over the bottom bracket.
