CATEYE AIR II GPS COMPUTER
The Simplified, Sensorless Navigator.
The CatEye Air GPS II is a refined, user-friendly GPS computer designed for cyclists who want accurate ride data without the hassle of wires or external sensors. It serves as a significant upgrade to the original Air GPS, primarily boosting battery life and satellite accuracy while maintaining the compact, intuitive interface CatEye is known for.
By utilizing a multi-GNSS system (GPS, GLONASS, and QZSS), the Air GPS II provides a stable and fast signal even in challenging environments. Its ClickTec™ button interface allows you to cycle through data fields by simply pressing the bottom of the computer's face, making it easy to operate even with thick winter gloves.
Key Features
Multi-Satellite Tracking: Uses GPS, GLONASS, and QZSS networks for faster signal acquisition and improved accuracy in wooded or urban areas.
Sensorless Convenience: Tracks speed, distance, and time immediately out of the box using satellite data—no magnets or spoke sensors required.
16-Hour Runtime: Features an improved rechargeable battery that offers up to 16 hours of continuous use, an increase from the 10 hours found on the previous model.
3-Row Programmable Display: A clear, high-contrast screen with middle and lower rows that can be customized via the CatEye Cycling app on your smartphone.
Automatic Data Sync: Wirelessly transfer your ride logs to your smartphone to upload directly to platforms like Strava and TrainingPeaks.
Night Mode Backlight: An integrated backlight that ensures your data remains visible during early morning commutes or late-evening training rides.

✅ Why This IS For You
Commuters & Recreational Riders: If you want a "set it and forget it" device that accurately records your speed and route without a complicated setup.
Data Sharers: Ideal if you want to see your rides on Strava but don't want to drain your phone's battery by using it as a head unit.
Simplicity Seekers: The ClickTec™ design makes this one of the most intuitive computers to use mid-ride; there are no tiny side buttons to fumble with.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Performance Training: While it supports Bluetooth heart rate and cadence sensors, it does not support power meters, which are essential for structured training.
Climbing Enthusiasts: The Air GPS II does not record elevation or ascent data; for vertical gain metrics, you would need a unit with a barometric altimeter like the CatEye Padrone Smart+.
Navigation Needs: This is a data-tracking computer, not a mapping device. It will record your route for later viewing, but it does not provide turn-by-turn navigation or maps.
BFC Pro Tip
To get the most out of your Air GPS II, perform your initial setup through the CatEye Cycling App. It is much faster to configure your display preferences and user profile on your phone screen than using the device's physical buttons. Also, remember that while it is sensorless, pairing it with a Bluetooth Speed Sensor can provide even more precise "instant" speed readings if you frequently ride through tunnels or areas with very heavy tree cover.
