ENDURO 6001 SEALED BEARING ABEC3 R2S 12 X 28 X 1/2
The Enduro 6001 ABEC 3 is a high-precision radial bearing engineered for applications that require a balance of high load capacity and smooth rotational speed.Measuring 12mm x 28mm x 8mm, this "6000-series" bearing features larger balls and deeper races than the thinner 6800-series, making it exceptionally robust. It is a common fixture in high-quality front hubs, certain freehub bodies, and heavy-duty suspension pivots where durability and lateral stability are paramount.
This bearing is equipped with LLB (Light Contact, Linear Lip) seals, utilizing a specialized "R2S" (Dual-Lip) design. Unlike standard industrial seals that can create significant drag, the Enduro LLB seal fits into a precision-machined groove in the inner race. This creates a labyrinthian barrier that effectively locks out road grime and moisture while allowing the bearing to spin with the low-friction characteristics required for performance cycling.
Key Performance Features
52100 High-Carbon Chromium Steel: The races are vacuum-degassed to ensure the highest purity, providing a harder, smoother surface that resists "brinelling" (permanent indentations) under heavy impacts.
Grade 10 Precision Balls: Features balls that are spherical within 10/1,000,000", ensuring perfectly even load distribution and reducing internal vibration during high-speed descents.
LLB/R2S Dual-Lip Seals: A sophisticated sealing system that provides superior protection against the elements without the parasitic drag of "full contact" industrial seals.
Increased Load Capacity: The 6001 series uses larger diameter balls compared to "slim" bearings, making it much better at absorbing the vertical shocks of off-road riding or rough road surfaces.
High-Pressure Marine Grease: Factory-packed with specialized waterproof lubricant that resists wash-out and maintains its consistency even after repeated bike washings.
ABEC 3 Precision Rating: Manufactured to strict tolerances for roundness and run-out, offering a significant upgrade over generic OEM factory bearings.

✅ Why This IS For You
Front Hub Maintenance: A standard size for many high-performance front hubs. If your front wheel has developed side-play or feels "gritty," this is the precision fix.
Heavy-Duty Linkages: Ideal for full-suspension bikes that use the 6001 size for the main pivot, providing a smooth and stable suspension action.
Performance Upgraders: A cost-effective way to improve the rolling efficiency of your wheelset by replacing standard industrial bearings with cycling-specific ABEC 3 units.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Narrower Hub Standards: Ensure your width is 8mm. Some hubs use the thinner 6901 (6mm) or 6801 (5mm) sizes. This 8mm wide bearing will not fit if your hub was designed for a narrower unit.
Extreme Corrosive Environments: While the LLB seals are excellent, riders in coastal areas or those who train heavily indoors may prefer the Enduro 6001 Stainless Steel version for total rust protection.
BFC Pro Tip
The 12mm internal diameter makes this a very common bearing for front axles. When installing, always use a bearing press with a 12mm drift that contacts the outer race when pressing into a hub shell. Applying pressure to the inner race during installation can "side-load" the balls and damage the polished tracks before you even take your first ride. For a perfectly silent hub, we recommend a tiny drop of retaining compound (like Loctite 641) on the outer race to ensure the bearing stays perfectly seated and won't creak under heavy cornering loads.
