ENDURO STAINLESS STEEL ANGULAR CONTACT HEADSET BEARING 45 X 45 30.15 X 41 X 7
The Enduro Stainless Steel Angular Contact Bearing is a premium, corrosion-proof solution designed for 1 1/8" integrated and semi-integrated headsets. While standard steel bearings are susceptible to "creeping death" from road spray, humidity, and perspiration, this bearing is constructed entirely from 440C Stainless Steel. This high-grade material ensures that the races and balls remain free from rust and pitting, maintaining a silky-smooth steering feel even in the harshest environments.
This is an Angular Contact (ACB) bearing with a 45° x 45° geometry, engineered specifically to handle the simultaneous vertical and lateral loads experienced at the head tube. Measuring 30.15mm x 41mm x 7mm, this is one of the most common sizes for the upper bearing in tapered systems or both upper and lower bearings in standard 1 1/8" setups. With its superior resistance to oxidation and precision-ground tracks, it is the ultimate "set-and-forget" component for high-end builds.
Key Performance Features
440C Stainless Steel Construction: Forged and precision-machined from stainless steel to provide total immunity to rust and corrosion, making it ideal for wet climates and indoor training.
45° x 45° Contact Angles: Features matching internal and external 45-degree chamfers to ensure perfect centering and optimal load distribution across the headset seats.
Superior Surface Polish: The stainless steel internal races are polished to a mirror finish, reducing friction for a light, responsive, and predictable steering feel.
Dual-Lip Labyrinth Seals: Equipped with high-contact seals that create a redundant barrier, locking out contaminants while retaining the high-performance factory grease.
Marine-Grade Waterproof Grease: Factory-packed with a specialized high-fill lubricant that won't wash out, ensuring consistent lubrication through all four seasons.
Maximum Durability: Specifically chosen for integrated cockpits where the difficulty of maintenance makes the longevity of the bearing a primary concern.

✅ Why This IS For You
Indoor "Pain Cave" Riders: If you train heavily on a stationary bike, the stainless steel construction is a mechanical necessity to prevent sweat from seizing your bearings.
Coastal & Winter Commuters: Perfect for riders exposed to salt air or gritted winter roads where standard bearings typically fail within a single season.
Premium Build Perfectionists: Ideal for those who want the highest quality component possible to ensure their steering remains "new bike smooth" for years to come.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Oversized 1.5" Lower Seats: This is a 30.15mm ID bearing. If you are replacing the lower bearing on a tapered fork, you likely need the larger 6808 (40mm ID) size.
36-Degree Headset Frames: Always check your old bearing for markings. If your frame or crown race is cut at 36 degrees, this 45-degree bearing will not seat correctly and will cause front-end play.
BFC Pro Tip
The 30.15mm internal diameter is designed for a precision fit on standard 1 1/8" steerers. Even though this bearing is stainless steel, we recommend applying a thin layer of waterproof assembly grease to the head tube seats and the outer chamfer before installation. This prevents metal-on-metal (or metal-on-carbon) creaking and acts as a secondary "gasket" against water ingress. When setting your headset tension, remember that stainless steel is very hard—don't over-torque the top cap, or you'll create unnecessary drag; just tighten until the play disappears!
