ENDURO 1 1/4 STAINLESS STEEL ANGULAR CONTACT HEADSET BEARING 45 X 45 34.1 X 46.8 X 7
The Enduro Stainless Steel Angular Contact Bearing is the gold standard for riders who demand longevity and smoothness in the most challenging environments. Specifically designed for 1 1/4" tapered headset systems, this bearing is forged from 440C Stainless Steel. Unlike standard chrome steel bearings that can pit and rust when exposed to sweat, rain, or road salt, this stainless version remains impervious to oxidation, ensuring your steering stays silky-smooth season after season.
This is an Angular Contact (ACB) bearing, meaning the internal races are designed at a 45° x 45° angle. This architecture allows the bearing to efficiently manage both radial and axial loads simultaneously—perfect for the complex forces exerted on a bicycle's head tube. With its precision-ground races and high-fill marine grease, it is the ultimate "fit-and-forget" upgrade for integrated headsets where bearing replacement can be a labor-intensive process.
Key Performance Features
440C Stainless Steel Construction: Total resistance to rust and corrosion, making it the premier choice for bikes exposed to coastal air, winter road salt, or heavy perspiration.
45° x 45° Angular Contact: Specifically engineered to handle the "combined loads" of steering, ensuring even wear and preventing the "notchy" feel common in radial bearings used in headsets.
Superior Surface Finish: The internal races are mirror-polished to reduce friction and noise, providing an incredibly light and responsive steering feel.
Dual-Lip Sealed Protection: Features heavy-duty seals that act as a redundant barrier against water ingress, grit, and degreasers.
High-Fill Waterproof Grease: Factory-packed with specialized marine-grade lubricant that won't wash out, even during repeated cleanings or wet-weather riding.
Optimized for 1 1/4" Systems: Precision-matched for the "middle" bearing size common in modern tapered road and gravel forks (often the upper bearing on certain oversized systems).

✅ Why This IS For You
The Indoor Trainer Specialist: If you use your bike on a stationary trainer, the stainless steel construction protects the bearing from the corrosive effects of falling sweat.
All-Weather Commuters: Perfect for riders in wet climates who don't want to replace their headset bearings every winter.
Integrated Cockpit Owners: If your cables run through the bearings, you want the longest-lasting bearing possible to avoid the hassle of a full cable re-route during replacement.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Standard 1 1/8" or 1 1/2" Forks: This is a specific 1 1/4" (34.1mm ID) size. Ensure your fork steerer isn't the more common 28.6mm (1 1/8") or 38.1mm (1.5") diameter before ordering.
Weight-Limited Racing: While incredibly durable, stainless steel is marginally heavier than ceramic. For a pure "hill-climb" bike, you might look at Enduro Ceramic options.
BFC Pro Tip
The 45° x 45° chamfer is the most critical part of this bearing's fit. When installing, ensure the inner chamfer sits perfectly flush against your fork's crown race (or compression ring). Even though this is stainless steel, we still recommend a healthy coating of waterproof grease on the outside of the bearing. This prevents "creaking" caused by the bearing moving slightly within the carbon or aluminum head tube. If you're replacing a bearing that rusted out quickly, check your top cap seal—a fresh rubber O-ring can go a long way in keeping the elements away from your new stainless investment!
