FARSPORTS X4 GRAVEL WHEEL SET
Aero Performance Meets Wide-Rim Stability.
The Farsports X4 is the deep-section specialist in the X-Series gravel lineup. While many gravel wheels prioritize weight alone, the X4 features a 45mm rim depth designed to provide a significant aerodynamic advantage on fast, open gravel sectors and fire roads. It is built around a modern 28mm internal rim width, which provides a massive air volume and a stable tire profile for modern 40mm+ gravel tires.
The X4 is highly customizable, with the flagship version featuring Berd PolyLight polymer spokes—which are lighter than steel and offer superior vibration damping—or a more traditional, high-value build using Sapim CX-Ray stainless steel spokes. Every set utilizes Farsports' own Star Ratchet hub system, providing reliable, tool-free engagement similar to industry-standard designs.
Key Features
45mm Aero Profile: Optimized for speed on fast gravel races, providing reduced drag compared to shallower "box section" rims.
Super Wide 28mm Internal: Supports tires from 35mm up to 50mm+, allowing for lower tire pressures and increased mechanical grip in loose corners.
Berd Spoke Compatibility: The X-Series is officially licensed for Berd PolyLight spokes, which absorb trail chatter and reduce the overall wheelset weight by roughly 100g.
Reliable Star Ratchet Hubs: Features a 36-tooth planetary gear structure that is easy to service and provides quick, dependable engagement.
No-Hole Rim Bed: Many versions come without spoke holes in the rim bed, making them natively tubeless without the need for rim tape (reducing leaks and weight).
T800 + T700 Carbon Mix: A sophisticated layup that balances lateral stiffness for sprinting with vertical compliance for comfort on all-day adventures.

✅ Why This IS For You
Fast Gravel Racers: If you frequently ride at high speeds (30km/h+) on open plains or wind-exposed roads where the 45mm depth offers a clear aero benefit.
Comfort Seekers: Choosing the Berd Spoke option creates one of the most comfortable gravel setups available, effectively acting as a "micro-suspension" for your hands and wrists.
Wide Tire Fans: If you want to run 40-45mm tires with a perfectly flush transition between the tire and the rim for better aerodynamics and side-wall support.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Technical Climbing Purists: While light, the shallower Farsports X3 (30mm depth) is roughly 40-60g lighter and more agile for constant steep climbing.
Extreme Crosswind Areas: The 45mm depth can be caught by sudden side gusts; if you ride in famously windy coastal regions, a shallower rim may be more predictable.
Serviceability in Remote Areas: If you choose the Berd Polymer spokes, you will need a specialized truing tool and specific knowledge—standard bike shops may not stock replacements in an emergency.
BFC Pro Tip
The 28mm internal width is quite wide—on many frames, a 40mm tire will actually measure closer to 42mm once mounted on these rims. Always check your frame's chainstay clearance before installing. Also, if you go with the Sapim steel spokes, I recommend the satin/matte finish; it’s incredibly durable against rock strikes and hides the inevitable "gravel rash" much better than a high-gloss clear coat.
