FOX OIL 1.5WT 475ML
The Ultra-Light Racing Standard.
FOX 1.5 WT Suspension Oil is a professional-grade, ultra-low viscosity fluid engineered specifically for high-performance mountain bike suspension components. Often referred to as "Superlight" or "Race" oil, this specific weight is designed for the latest generation of FOX dampers—specifically the GRIP2 and FIT4 systems—where rapid oil flow and consistent damping are critical for traction.
Formulated with advanced anti-foaming agents and stable friction modifiers, this oil ensures your suspension maintains its "supple" feel from the beginning of the descent to the end, even under extreme heat.
Key Features
Ultra-Low Viscosity (1.5 WT): Provides the fastest possible flow through the damper's shim stacks and valves, essential for high-speed compression and rebound sensitivity.
Anti-Foaming Formula: Minimizes air entrainment (aeration) during high-frequency chatter, preventing the "dead" or inconsistent feeling that occurs when oil bubbles form.
Thermal Stability: Engineered to maintain its specific viscosity across a wide temperature range, ensuring your fork feels the same on a cold morning as it does on a hot afternoon.
Friction Reducing Additives: Infused with proprietary moly-based additives that reduce stiction (static friction) between moving internal parts, resulting in smoother travel.
Extended Seal Life: Contains conditioners that keep internal O-rings and U-cup seals supple, preventing premature hardening or leaking.

✅ Why This IS For You
Home Mechanics: The 475ml bottle is the perfect size for a single full service of a fork or shock without having to store a massive 1-liter jug of oil.
GRIP2 Damper Owners: This is the factory-specified oil for the damper side of the modern FOX 36, 38, and 40 forks—using anything heavier will sluggishly change the fork’s performance.
Small Bump Compliance Seekers: If you want your fork to feel as sensitive as possible over "washboard" terrain, using a fresh, high-quality 1.5 WT oil is the most effective internal upgrade you can perform.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Lower Leg Service: This is damper oil, not "bath oil." For the lower legs (lubrication), you typically need FOX 20WT Gold or 10WT Green. Do not use 1.5WT in the lower legs as it is too thin to provide adequate lubrication for the bushings.
Rear Shock Air Sleeves: This is a hydraulic fluid. For air-can maintenance (seals/sleeves), you require FOX Float Fluid (the blue, honey-like oil).
Older Open-Bath Forks: Many older FOX forks (pre-2015) were designed for 10WT oil. Putting 1.5WT into an older system will result in almost zero rebound control and a very "springy" ride.
BFC Pro Tip
Suspension oil is highly hygroscopic, meaning it can absorb moisture from the air once opened. To keep your 1.5 WT oil in peak condition, always store the bottle in a cool, dark place and ensure the cap is tightened immediately after pouring. If the oil in the bottle ever looks "milky" or cloudy, it has been contaminated with water and should not be used in your high-end damper.
