The Fox Speedframe MIPS is one of the most versatile and highly-rated open-face trail helmets on the market. The "5050 Abode" edition features a premium, dual-tone split aesthetic in the "Abode" colorway—a sophisticated, earthy clay/terracotta tone paired with a clean neutral base. This helmet is designed for the modern trail rider who needs deep rear-head coverage for aggressive descending but requires high-performance ventilation for the punchy, technical climbs common in the Perth Hills.
Equipped with the MIPS® (Multi-directional Impact Protection System), the Speedframe is engineered to reduce rotational forces during an angled impact, providing an extra layer of safety over standard helmets. With its 3-position adjustable visor and a specialized "Goggle-Stash" feature, it bridges the gap between a lightweight XC lid and a heavy-duty enduro helmet, making it the "go-to" choice for local riders at Goat Farm or Gungin.
MIPS® Protection System: A low-friction layer inside the helmet that allows 10-15mm of movement in all directions, significantly reducing rotational energy transferred to the brain during a crash.
360° Fit System: Features a micro-adjustable dial at the rear that tightens around the entire circumference of the head, ensuring a stable, "hot-spot" free fit even on rough rock gardens.
Big Bore Ventilation: Optimized airflow channels are molded into the EPS liner to pull cool air through the front and exhaust heat out the back, preventing overheating on 30°C+ WA summer days.
3-Position Adjustable Visor: Easily moves up to accommodate goggle storage or down to block the low afternoon sun during a sunset ride.
Moisture-Wicking Liner: A plush, removable, and washable comfort liner designed to absorb sweat and dry quickly between trail sessions.
Goggle Compatible: The rear shell shape is specifically designed to "grip" a goggle strap, preventing it from sliding down while riding.

The All-Day Trail Rider: If you need a helmet that is comfortable for 3+ hour rides but offers more protection than a standard "road-style" XC lid.
Goggle Users: Perfect for riders who prefer the security of goggles over glasses; the visor and shell integration is the best in its class.
Style-Focused Shredders: The 5050 Abode colorway is a unique, premium look that breaks away from the standard "neon" or "black" bike gear trends.
High-Speed Gravity/DH: If you are hitting the "Mainline" or technical DH tracks at high speeds, you may prefer the Fox Speedframe Pro (which adds a dual-density Varizorb EPS) or a full-face helmet like the Proframe.
The Weight-Absolute Minimalist: While light, it is a "trail" helmet with more coverage. Dedicated XC racers might find it slightly heavier than a minimal road-style helmet.
The Fox Speedframe has a slightly "oval" internal shape. If you find your current helmet feels tight on the sides but has a gap at the front/back, the Speedframe will likely be the perfect fit for you. To keep the Abode matte finish looking fresh, avoid using harsh degreasers near the helmet—a simple wipe down with a damp microfiber cloth and warm soapy water is all you need to remove the WA pea-gravel dust. Finally, always store the helmet with the visor in the middle position to prevent the plastic from becoming "set" in a warped shape over time!
