GOODYEAR VECTOR 4 SEASON TYRE 700 X28
The Ultra-High Performance Shield for Year-Round Riding.
The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons is a premium "All-Season" road tyre designed for riders who refuse to let the weather dictate their training schedule.Positioned as an Ultra-High Performance (UHP) tyre, it bridges the gap between a fragile race tyre and a sluggish winter commuter. Whether you are navigating the rain-slicked bitumen of a coastal winter or tackling debris-strewn country lanes, the Vector 4Seasons is engineered to provide confidence-inspiring grip and class-leading puncture protection without sacrificing the "fast" feel of a performance tyre.
Unlike standard road tyres that can become hard and "plastic-like" in near-freezing temperatures, the Vector 4Seasons utilizes a specialized Dynamic:Silica4 compound. This ensures the rubber stays supple and tacky in the cold, providing an 8.7% increase in wet-weather traction compared to standard compounds.Encased in a robust bead-to-bead protection layer, this tyre is built to shrug off the glass, flint, and potholes that typically plague winter riding.
Advanced Protection & Compound
Dynamic:Silica4 Compound: A high-silica formulation specifically tuned to maintain maximum grip in wet and cold conditions while minimizing rolling resistance.
R:Armor Protection: A lightweight, high-density casing layer that provides bead-to-bead protection, defending the sidewalls against cuts and abrasions from jagged road debris.
R:Shield Breaker Belt: An additional puncture-resistant strip located directly under the tread cap to stop sharp objects from penetrating the tube or tubeless liner.
Tubeless Complete™: Goodyear’s proprietary design that combines the benefits of a Tubeless Ready tyre with enhanced air retention properties, making setup easier and more reliable.
120 TPI Casing: A high-thread-count construction that offers a supple ride quality, allowing the tyre to deform over road imperfections for better comfort and speed.
Key Features
Optimized Wet Grip: The tread pattern and compound work in tandem to displace water and maintain a solid contact patch during aggressive cornering in the rain.
Multi-Condition Versatility: Designed to perform optimally from -10°C up to +25°C, making it a true year-round companion for Australian "winter" conditions.
Modern Rim Compatibility: Features a "Forward-facing Fitment" profile, meaning it is designed to seat perfectly on modern wide-internal rims (19mm–21mm).
Durable Longer Life: The compound is significantly more abrasion-resistant than pure race rubber, offering a much higher mileage-per-dollar ratio for high-volume riders.
Reflective Sidewall Option: Some models are available with a reflective strip to enhance side-on visibility during low-light dawn and dusk rollouts.

✅ Why This IS For You
The Year-Round Trainer: If you want a tyre that you can fit in April and leave on until October, knowing it will handle everything from autumn mist to winter storms.
Gravel-Adjacent Roadies: Perfect for those who frequently find themselves on poorly maintained backroads or light limestone paths where extra sidewall protection is a must.
Endurance & Audax Riders: Ideal for long-distance events where reliability and puncture resistance are more important than saving 20g of rotational weight.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Summer Criterium Racers: If you are racing in the heat of summer on smooth hot-mix, a dedicated race tyre like the Goodyear Eagle F1 will be lighter and feel more "supple."
Ultra-Lightweight Climbers: At ~340g (Tubeless), these are heavier than "pure" race tyres; if every gram counts for your KOM attempts, you may feel the extra weight on steep gradients.
BFC Pro Tip
The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons has a reputation for "coming up narrow." On a standard rim, a 28c Vector may measure closer to 26mm or 27mm. If your frame has the clearance and you are looking for that "plush" 28mm feel, we often recommend sizing up to the 30c version. Also, if you are running these tubeless, Goodyear’s "Tubeless Complete" casing is exceptionally good at holding air—you can often run slightly lower pressures (60-70 PSI for a 75kg rider) to offset the slightly firmer feel of the reinforced sidewalls
