PIRELLI PZERO RACE SL-R TLR TYRE
The New Benchmark in WorldTour Performance.
The P Zero™ Race RS is the latest evolution in Pirelli’s racing stable, specifically engineered to be the fastest and highest-performing clincher tyre they have ever produced. Developed in collaboration with WorldTour professionals, the RS (Racing Speed) version succeeds the previous SL models, focusing on a significant reduction in rolling resistance while actually increasing grip in both wet and dry conditions.
Produced in Pirelli’s state-of-the-art Milano-Bollate plant, this tyre utilizes the brand-new SmartEVO² Compound and a speed-optimized SpeedCORE™ casing. This combination creates a tyre that is not only lighter but also more supple, allowing it to conform to road imperfections for maximum power transfer and confidence at extreme lean angles.
Key Features
SmartEVO² Compound: The newest chemical formulation from Pirelli labs, offering a drastic reduction in rolling resistance while improving chemical grip on unpredictable surfaces.
SpeedCORE™ Casing: A thin, airtight layer of rubber compound infused with aramid particles that covers the internal part of the tyre. This reduces weight and enhances suppleness compared to traditional fabric-heavy casings.
Tubeless Ready (TLR): Optimized for modern high-pressure tubeless setups, providing a reliable airtight seal and improved puncture protection through liquid sealant.
F1-Derived Tread Design: The iconic "flash" tread pattern has been refined to displace water more efficiently and provide consistent feedback during high-speed cornering.
Hookless Compatibility: Specifically designed to meet the latest ETRTO standards, making it compatible with modern hookless carbon rims (check width compatibility for 26c and below).
Weight Reduction: The RS version focuses on stripping away unnecessary mass, making it one of the lightest high-performance racing tyres currently on the market.

✅ Why This IS For You
Competitive Racers: If you are looking for the absolute lowest rolling resistance for time trials, criteriums, or peak-performance road racing.
Weight-Conscious Builders: Perfect for those aiming to reduce rotating mass on high-end carbon wheelsets without sacrificing grip.
Modern Rim Owners: Ideal for users of wide, hookless carbon rims who require a tyre that meets the strictest safety and fitment standards.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
High-Mileage Commuters: The RS is a dedicated racing tyre; for daily training or winter commuting where long-term tread life is the priority, the standard P Zero Race or Cinturato ranges are more suitable.
Rough Gravel Use: While the aramid-infused casing is tough, this is a pure road racing tyre and is not intended for sharp flint or off-road gravel adventures.
BFC Pro Tip
To maximize the performance of the P Zero Race RS, pay close attention to the Pirelli Pressure Guide. Because the SpeedCORE™ casing is so supple, these tyres often perform best at slightly lower pressures than traditional butyl-tube setups. If you are fitting these to hookless rims, remember the strict 73 PSI (5.0 bar) maximum limit. For the ultimate race-day setup, we recommend using a high-quality latex-based sealant to maintain the tyre's low rolling resistance and supple feel.
