Unlike many aftermarket rings that are stamped, the Buzz set is One-Shot Cold Forged from 7075-T6 aluminum. The Praxis Buzz rings are a staff favorite because they simply work. Because they are cold-forged rather than CNC-cut, the teeth are incredibly tough—but the secret to their longevity is a fresh chain. We always recommend installing a new chain when you fit these rings to ensure the best interface and to prevent "premature wear" from an old, stretched chain. Also, when installing, make sure the drop pin (the little silver stud) is aligned behind the crank arm—this prevents your chain from getting wedged between the arm and the ring in the event of an overshift!
