The Low-Profile Essential for Frosty Rollouts.
The Santini Winter Wool Ear Warmer is a minimalist, high-performance headband designed to protect your most vulnerable extremities without the bulk of a full thermal skull cap. For many riders, a full cap can cause overheating once the heart rate climbs, but cold ears remain a constant distraction. This ear warmer solves that problem by providing targeted thermal protection exactly where you need it, while allowing the top of your head to breathe and heat to escape through your helmet vents.
Crafted from a premium Wool and Polyester blend, this headband offers the best of both worlds: the natural, incredible warmth and odour-resistance of wool, combined with the fast-wicking and durable properties of synthetic fibres. It features a slim, ergonomic "contoured" cut that drops down over the ears while remaining narrow at the forehead and nape of the neck. This ensures it fits perfectly under any road or MTB helmet without interfering with the retention system or causing "helmet lift."
Key Features
Wool-Blend Thermal Fabric: Utilises the natural insulating properties of wool to provide warmth even when damp from mist or light rain.
Ergonomic Contoured Shape: Specifically designed with extended ear flaps to ensure total coverage while the front remains slim to fit under helmet brims.
Low-Profile Seams: Features flat-lock stitching to prevent pressure points and irritation against the skin during long rides.
High Breathability: Open-top design allows for maximum heat dissipation from the crown of the head, preventing the "sweaty-head" feeling common with full caps.
Moisture-Wicking Internal Finish: The interior is designed to pull sweat away from the brow, preventing it from running into your eyes or onto your eyewear.
Italian Craftsmanship: Proudly Made in Italy, ensuring the high-quality finish and longevity expected from the Santini brand.

✅ Why This IS For You
Early Morning Roadies: If you find yourself suffering from "ear-ache" on those crisp 5:00 AM starts but find a full winter cap too hot after 20 minutes.
High-Intensity Trainers: Perfect for riders doing intervals or hill repeats in winter; the open-top design keeps your core temperature regulated while your ears stay protected.
Commuters: A great "pocketable" accessory that is easy to stash in a bag or jersey pocket once the sun warms up during the ride home.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Deep-Freeze Explorers: For temperatures consistently below 0°C, or for riders with very little hair, a full Santini Thermal Skull Cap will provide the necessary crown protection.
Aero-Focused Racers: While slim, it does add a tiny bit of width to the head; for TT or high-speed racing, you might prefer a thinner, silk-weight liner.
BFC Pro Tip
The Santini Winter Wool Ear Warmer is designed to sit quite low. To get the best seal against the wind, pull your sunglasses on after the ear warmer is in place. You can either tuck the arms of your glasses under the headband for a rock-solid fit, or if you find that causes a gap at the temples, place the arms over the top of the fabric. To keep the wool blend in top shape, avoid "hot" washes—a cool cycle and air-drying will prevent any shrinkage and keep the wool feeling soft against your ears!
