The Shimano CUES CS-LG300 9-Speed Cassette sets a new benchmark for everyday reliability, smooth operation, and drivetrain longevity. Engineered specifically around Shimano's revolutionary LINKGLIDE technology, this cassette is built to survive the relentless, grinding forces of modern mid-drive e-bikes, loaded trekking rigs, and daily commuter bikes. Where traditional cassettes quickly wear out and suffer from premature chain skipping under high torque, the CS-LG300 features robustly redesigned steel sprocket teeth with a significantly thicker base and a unique chamfer to deliver up to three times the wear resistance of conventional HyperGlide systems.
Beyond its bulletproof construction, the CS-LG300 focuses heavily on shifting refinement. It features contoured shift gates that enable seamless, two-way shifting both inward and outward across the gears. This means you can confidently shift under heavy pedalling loads—whether climbing a steep incline or accelerating away from traffic—with drastically reduced pedal shock and a quiet, predictable drivetrain feel. By utilising a standard HG freehub spline, it offers widespread compatibility across existing wheelsets while upgrading your daily ride to a more durable, low-maintenance ecosystem.
LINKGLIDE Wear Resistance: Delivers up to three times the operating lifespan of standard HyperGlide cassettes under high-torque, high-chain-tension conditions.
Smooth 2-Way Shifting: Contoured shift gates ensure ultra-smooth gear transitions both up and down the cassette, even under heavy pedalling loads.
Reduced Pedal Shock: Minimises the abrupt "clunk" and hesitation often felt during shifting, protecting your drivetrain components and smoothing out your power delivery.
Rider-Tuned Gear Steps: Optimized progression across all nine gears ensures consistent cadence management for urban, trail, and e-bike applications.
Standard HG Spline Interface: Slides directly onto highly common, standard Shimano HG freehub bodies for hassle-free installation and wheel compatibility.

Ride a High-Torque E-Bike: Perfect if you find yourself constantly replacing worn-out chains and cassettes due to the immense motor assist on your e-bike.
Commute in All Weather: Ideal for daily riders who need a reliable, low-maintenance drivetrain that won't skip or slip when exposed to grit and rainwater.
Shift Under Heavy Load: Excellent if you want the confidence to smash through gears while grinding up steep hills without worrying about snapping chain links.
Want Exceptional Value: Great if you want premium, long-lasting shift technology without paying the high price tag and weight premium of top-tier racing components.
Prefer a Smoother Ride: A fantastic upgrade if you are tired of the aggressive, clunky gear changes common on entry-level mountain and hybrid bikes.
Own a Traditional HyperGlide Shifter: This cassette is strictly built for LINKGLIDE ecosystems; it will not index correctly with standard Shimano 9-speed mountain or road shifters.
Weight-Weenie Racer: Built for ultimate durability using solid steel sprockets rather than exotic alloys, making it heavier than performance-focused race cassettes.
Run a 10, 11, or 12-Speed Setup: Specifically engineered as a 9-speed cassette and cannot be modified to fit higher gear-count drivetrains.
Because LINKGLIDE cassettes use a distinct tooth profile and unique spacing, you must pair this cassette with a dedicated LINKGLIDE shifter and rear derailleur to get proper shifting index alignment. However, here is a secret: you do not use a standard 9-speed chain! To cope with the thicker sprocket teeth, you must run either a dedicated LINKGLIDE chain or a standard Shimano 11-speed chain. Always use a quality chain checker tool at every wash; changing your chain at 0.5% wear will ensure this ultra-tough cassette easily lasts you years of hassle-free riding!
