WAHOO KICKR REPLACMENT THROUGH AXLE SET
The Essential Link for Modern Bike Compatibility.
The Wahoo KICKR Replacement Thru Axle Adapter Kit is a critical accessory for riders transitioning their indoor training setup between different bicycles. While older trainers were primarily designed for the 130/135mm quick-release standard, modern road, gravel, and mountain bikes almost exclusively use 12mm thru-axles. This kit provides the specialized hardware needed to securely mount a thru-axle bike to a direct-drive KICKR or KICKR CORE, ensuring the frame is perfectly centered and the drivetrain is correctly aligned.
Designed for the KICKR '18 (v4) and newer models, this comprehensive kit replaces lost or damaged original parts. It includes both 142mm and 148mm (Boost) adapters, allowing you to swap between a standard road disc bike and a modern mountain bike without needing separate kits. The high-tolerance machining prevents frame "play" during high-wattage sprints, protecting your expensive carbon or alloy dropouts from unnecessary wear.
What’s in the Box?
This is a complete "small parts" refresh for your trainer's axle interface:
142mm Non-Drive Side Adapter: For standard road and gravel disc frames.
148mm Non-Drive Side Adapter: For "Boost" spaced mountain bike frames.
Drive Side Spin Cap: The threaded end-cap that secures the bike to the trainer's axle.
Shimano-Style Freehub Lock Nut: Required for standard HG freehubs.
SRAM XDR-Style Freehub Lock Nut: Required for 12-speed wireless road/gravel drivetrains.

✅ Why This IS For You
The Multi-Bike Household: If you frequently swap your Trek Checkpoint (142mm) and your Fuel EX (148mm) on the same trainer, this kit contains everything you need to switch back and forth.
New Bike Upgraders: If you’ve just moved from a rim-brake bike to a disc-brake thru-axle bike, this kit is the "missing link" required to get your new ride onto your existing KICKR.
Used Trainer Buyers: Often, second-hand trainers are sold with missing small parts; this kit fully restores the trainer to its original factory compatibility.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
KICKR SNAP Users: If you have the wheel-on KICKR SNAP, this kit will not work. You require the KICKR SNAP Thru Axle Adapter, which includes a specialized replacement axle.
Legacy KICKR Owners (Pre-2018): For the original 2014 or 2016 KICKR models, this official Wahoo kit is not compatible. You would typically need a third-party solution like the Robert Axle Project DDA202 to adapt those older units.
BFC Pro Tip
When installing the non-drive side adapters, pay close attention to the orientation. One side is typically tapered for certain frame types (like those using the Syntace X-12 standard), while the other is flat. If the bike feels slightly "loose" even when the thru-axle is tight, try flipping the adapter. Also, remember that you should use your bike's original thru-axle to secure it to the trainer; these adapters simply provide the "nest" for your frame to sit in. A tiny smear of grease on the threads of the freehub lock nut will prevent them from seizing after a long winter of sweaty indoor sessions!
