WHEELS MFG HANGER #166
Precision Alignment for Crisp Shifting.
The Wheels Mfg Derailleur Hanger #166 is a premium, CNC-machined replacement for the standard cast hangers found on a wide variety of road, gravel, and mountain bikes. While original equipment (OEM) hangers are often made from softer, cast aluminum that can bend easily or provide "vague" shifting, Wheels Mfg uses 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. This results in a stiffer, more durable hanger that maintains its alignment under the high cable tension of modern 11 and 12-speed drivetrains.
Designed and manufactured in Colorado, USA, the #166 is a "2-bolt" style hanger. It is specifically known for its compatibility with a massive range of brands, including Polygon, Whyte, Orange, and Louis Garneau. Because it is machined to much tighter tolerances than cast parts, it often provides a noticeable improvement in shifting speed and indexing accuracy, especially on bikes that have suffered from chronic "ghost-shifting" issues.
Key Features
CNC Machined 6061-T6 Aluminum: Offers superior stiffness and durability compared to original cast hangers, ensuring your derailleur stays perfectly vertical.
Black Anodised Finish: Provides a hard-wearing, corrosion-resistant surface that looks professional and matches modern frame aesthetics.
2-Bolt Secure Interface: Attaches to the frame using two M4x8 Flat Head Screws (included), providing a rock-solid foundation for the rear derailleur.
High-Precision Indexing: The increased rigidity helps eliminate derailleur flex, which is critical for the tight tolerances of 12-speed electronic and mechanical systems.
Made in the USA: Produced in Wheels Manufacturing’s Colorado facility to exacting workshop standards.
