ZIPP GEL PAD SET
Targeted Vibration Damping for Long-Distance Comfort.
The Zipp Handlebar Gel Pad Set is a precision-engineered solution for riders who want to significantly reduce road buzz and hand fatigue without switching to an overly thick or bulky bar tape. This set includes two pre-shaped, medical-grade silicone gel strips designed to sit flush against the top curves and "ramps" of your drop handlebars, where your hands spend the most time during endurance efforts.
At 2.5mm thick, these pads provide a "hidden" layer of suspension that filters out high-frequency vibrations from chip-seal roads and gravel. Because they are separate from the tape itself, they allow you to maintain a slim handlebar profile while enjoying the impact absorption usually reserved for heavy-duty adventure setups.
Key Features
Precision Contoured Shape: Specially designed to follow the ergonomic curves of the handlebar tops and the transition to the brake hoods.
Vibration Absorption: The high-density silicone gel effectively minimizes the "buzz" transmitted through aluminum and carbon bars.
Customizable Fit: The strips are easily trimmable with scissors, allowing you to customize the length to suit different handlebar widths or specific hand positions.
Low Profile Design: At 2.5mm, the pads add essential cushioning without making the bars feel excessively thick or "mushy."
Lightweight Performance: The entire set weighs only 27g, making it an easy choice for weight-conscious road and gravel builds.
Durable & Reusable: Unlike adhesive-backed foams, these silicone pads can often be cleaned and reused when you switch out your bar tape.

✅ Why This IS For You
Endurance & Century Riders: If you suffer from numbness or "hot spots" in your palms after several hours of riding, this targeted padding provides immediate relief.
Gravel & CX Enthusiasts: Perfect for smoothing out chunky terrain while still being able to use a grippy, high-performance tape like the Supacaz Super Sticky Kush.
Aluminum Bar Users: Since alloy bars tend to transmit more vibration than carbon, these pads are a cost-effective way to achieve carbon-like dampening.
❌ Why This May NOT be for you
Small Handed Riders: If you already find your handlebars feel too large to grip comfortably, adding 2.5mm of extra girth under the tape may make the bars feel too thick.
Direct-Feel Racers: Some sprinters prefer the most direct, firm connection to the bars possible and may find the slight "give" of gel pads less responsive during high-torque efforts.
Aero Bar Owners: These are designed for the round or semi-ergo tops of standard bars; they may not fit correctly on flat-top integrated aero bars without significant trimming.
BFC Pro Tip
For the cleanest installation, apply a small piece of electrical tape to the ends of the gel pads to hold them perfectly in place against the bar before you start wrapping your tape. This prevents the gel from shifting as you apply the high tension required for a professional wrap. If you are using a thin tape (under 2mm), the edges of the gel might be slightly visible; using a 2.5mm or 3.2mm tape like the ones we discussed earlier will make the transition completely seamless and invisible.
