Designed in collaboration with professional mountain bike athletes, the Fox Speedframe Pro Lunar Special Edition represents the pinnacle of open-face trail safety and performance. Built around a dual-density Varizorb EPS liner, this helmet is engineered to spread impact forces across a much wider surface area. Its standout feature is the striking Lunar Collection aesthetic, which incorporates highly reflective graphics that catch the light to dramatically enhance your visibility during low-light dawn, dusk, or night sessions.
Safety is paramount, with this premium helmet earning a flawless 5-Star safety rating from Virginia Tech's Bicycle Helmet Ratings program. It comes fully equipped with the cutting-edge MIPS Air Node protection system—a lightweight, ultra-breathable iteration of MIPS integrated directly into the helmet padding to intercept and reduce harmful rotational forces during angled impacts.
Finding a secure, personalised fit is instantaneous thanks to the integrated BOA fit system, offering micro-adjustable dial retention that cradles the head comfortably without pressure points. The premium feature set is rounded out by an easily adjustable three-position visor that seamlessly accommodates mountain bike goggles, a dedicated sunglass storage port, and the secure, glove-friendly FIDLOCK SNAP magnetic chin buckle.

✅ Ultimate Safety Focus: Ideal for aggressive trail and all-mountain riders who want a verified, top-tier Virginia Tech 5-Star protection rating.
✅ Dawn & Dusk Riders: Perfect if you frequently ride during low-light hours and want high-vis reflectivity without resorting to neon colours.
✅ Premium Feature Seekers: Excellent if you appreciate high-end finishes like a BOA dial, magnetic buckle, and low-profile impact liners.
❌ Strict Budget Builders: If you don't need a BOA system or a magnetic buckle, the standard base-model Speedframe offers a similar shape at a lower price point.
❌ Downhill Racing: While incredibly safe for trail riding, high-speed bike park laps or gravity racing demand a full-face helmet like the Fox Proframe instead.
❌ Skatepark / Dirt Jump Styling: If you prefer a classic, low-profile bowl-style helmet for pump tracks, the aggressive trail aesthetics might not suit your vibe.
The BOA fit system on the Lunar Special Edition features a four-point rear cradle adjustment inside the helmet. Before your first ride, don't just turn the dial—try moving the actual rear plastic cradle up or down into the four different slots. Dropping it lower down the back of your skull gives an incredibly secure, locked-in feel that keeps the helmet completely stable, preventing it from shaking forward into your eyes when charging down rough, chattery singletrack!
