The Lazer Maze KinetiCore is a high-performance youth helmet designed to bring world-class safety technology to smaller riders. Moving away from traditional MIPS inserts, this helmet features Lazer’s proprietary KinetiCore technology—integrated Controlled Crumple Zones built directly into the helmet’s EPS structure. These "blocks" are designed to buckle under impact, redirecting both direct and rotational energy away from the brain, making it a lightweight and highly breathable safety solution.
The "Matte Nordic Pink" finish offers a sophisticated, modern aesthetic that stands out on the bike path or at the local pump track. With its Small/Medium (50-55cm) sizing, the Maze is specifically engineered for a child's head shape, ensuring the helmet sits low on the brow and temples for maximum coverage. It’s the ideal "next step" for young riders transitioning from a toddler lid to a more capable, trail-ready helmet.
KinetiCore Technology: Features integrated crumple zones molded into the helmet liner. This reduces the overall weight and plastic use while providing superior protection against rotational and direct impacts.
Kid-Specific Fit: The shell geometry is optimized for the proportionally larger forehead and temple area of a developing child, ensuring the helmet doesn't "perch" too high on the head.
TurnSys Fit System: A user-friendly dial at the rear provides a quick and secure 360-degree fit, making it easy for kids (or parents) to adjust the tension with one hand, even while wearing gloves.
Aggressive Ventilation: Designed with large intake vents to keep young heads cool during high-energy rides or hot summer afternoons in WA.
Lateral Protection: The extended side and rear profile provides extra coverage for the back of the head, which is a common impact zone in playground or driveway falls.
Lightweight Design: By integrating the safety tech into the foam rather than using an internal plastic liner, the Maze is significantly lighter than many MIPS-equipped youth helmets.

Safety-Conscious Parents: If you want rotational impact protection for your child without the added weight or "squeaking" sometimes associated with plastic MIPS liners.
The Active Junior Rider: Perfect for kids who have outgrown their "first" helmet and are starting to ride singletrack, pump tracks, or longer rail-trail distances.
Ease of Use: The TurnSys dial is one of the most intuitive systems for kids to learn to use themselves, encouraging independence in gear setup.
Toddlers: If your child's head is under 50cm, this helmet will be too large and unstable. You would be better suited to the Lazer Nutz KinetiCore (46-52cm).
Aggressive Gravity/DH: For kids hitting high-speed downhill tracks or jumps, a full-face youth helmet like the Fox Rampage is the safer choice for chin and jaw protection.
A common mistake with youth helmets is wearing them too far back on the head. The Lazer Maze should sit roughly two finger-widths above the eyebrows to protect the forehead. To maintain the Matte Nordic Pink finish, avoid using stickers or adhesive "mohawks," as the glue can damage the matte coating over time. If your child rides in low-light conditions, the Maze is compatible with the Lazer Universal LED light, which snaps directly onto the rear of the helmet for added 360-degree visibility!
