The Wolf Tooth Front Thru Axle is a precision-engineered replacement for the standard RockShox Maxle. While stock axles often feature bulky quick-release levers that can snag on trail-side brush or be damaged in rock gardens, the Wolf Tooth version utilizes a streamlined, leverless design. This not only shaves significant weight—weighing in at just 47g—but also creates a much cleaner aesthetic for your front end.
Crafted in Minneapolis, USA, from 7075-T6 aluminum, this axle is designed for maximum stiffness. Its standout technical feature is the captive steel washer located under the head. This washer reduces friction against the fork leg during installation, ensuring that more of your tightening torque is converted into actual clamping force rather than being lost to friction. This results in a stiffer interface and prevents the axle from "galling" or sticking when it comes time for removal.
Captive Steel Washer: A plated steel washer under the axle head protects your fork's finish and prevents the axle from seizing or sticking to the fork leg.
Leverless Design: Requires a 6mm hex key for installation and removal, eliminating the bulky QR lever for a more aerodynamic and "snag-free" profile.
Wolf Tooth Axle Handle Compatible: The updated V2 design includes an internal O-ring, making it compatible with the Wolf Tooth Axle Handle Multi-Tool for quick, tool-free adjustments in the field.
7075-T6 Aerospace Aluminum: Offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, providing the durability needed for aggressive Enduro and Trail riding.
Precision Threading: Machined to a precise M15 x 1.5 thread pitch to ensure a perfect fit with RockShox's internal fork threads.
